To acquire a degree in Doctorate
of Philosophy, in any subject, a dissertation is mandatory. Presenting a
dissertation for a PhD degree is a universal law prevalent across the globe in
all universities. There are no alternatives to it. Differences occur in the

ones. Every university has their own manual which clearly defines the
prescribed formats to which students must adhere to, so that their dissertation
is sanctioned.
However, no matter which style of
writing is followed, a PhD dissertation
must have the required sections. There must be a section of acknowledgements,
abstract, hypothesis, introduction, the main body (segmented into chapters) and
a conclusion. The table of contents, figures, lists of tables, et all of course
is there.
